PRIVATE LESSONS
At Magnolia Athletic Company, our private lessons are restricted to only athletes enrolled in our class programs, including both All Star and recreational tumbling athletes.
Private lessons can be a beneficial contributor to athlete training, when used appropriately.
Often, athletes pursue private lessons as a means to gain a new skill. However, the athlete often lacks the conditioning, strength, and/or mobility needed to complete the skill. As a result, we promote our athletes participating in multiple classes per week as a first step towards gaining new skills quickly. Each class focused on 30 minutes of mobility, strength, conditioning, and shape building targeting new skill growth in a more specific way.
Once an athlete has gained the additional physical needs to progress towards a new skill and is ready for a final push towards the skill, then we sometimes recommend a small amount of private lessons to increase repetitions and finalize the new skill.
Other times, athletes with a unique physical hurdle, such as extremely tight shoulders or hips beyond that of their peers, or an on-going issue with confidence and mental strength. These are again times that temporary private lessons might be the right choice.
If you are considering private lessons for your athlete, we recommend speaking with your athletes instructor at class dismissal to determine if private lessons or an additional class would be the most cost-effective path forward to skill growth.
